The new commissioner of the ASL of Cagliari Aldo Atzori visited the San Marcellino of Muravera for the first time and met with the health personnel to understand what the main critical issues are.
Critical issues, in the end, are mainly related to the lack of personnel. Almost all departments, in fact, need to be strengthened (Emergency Room, analysis laboratory, but also surgery and medicine).
"Given the current regulatory framework," explained Atzori, "it is not easy to recruit staff and, above all, doctors in peripheral hospitals."
And therefore "it is important to work on projects that make local hospitals attractive to young doctors so that they can find motivation to work in the suburbs through professional growth and economic remuneration."
Atzori added that "these days we are reviewing the training network to integrate the specialist doctors and thus provide answers to the inhabitants of Sarrabus and the numerous tourists who choose Muravera as a holiday destination".
The commissioner was accompanied on his visit to San Marcellino, among others, by the health director of ASL 8 Roberto Massazza and of the district Massimo Carboni. Also present were the deputy mayor of Muravera Cristiano Sagliano and the regional councilor (and mayor of Villaputzu) Sandro Porcu. The meeting also highlighted the numerous professionals present and the active services such as surgery, oncology and radiology.
