"A clear message arrives from every corner of the world: vaccines are the key to closing this season, the weapon that allows us to open a different season". This was stated by the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza on the sidelines of the 78th FIMMG National Congress underway in Villasimius. "Now - he added - we will discuss in the Council of Ministers on the possibility of new openings".

On the indication of the CTS to allow the opening of discos with 35% of the capacity, Speranza recalled that "in recent months we have put forward the priority of the right to health, while crossing the demands coming from various economic sectors". "let's not forget where we were and where we are now. Months ago Italy had a number of enormous limitations, today we can afford a series of openings and possibilities that were far away months ago. We continue gradually on this path. "Therefore," we do not have to read each passage as the photograph of a moment. And we continue to strongly say that the freedoms obtained are due to an extraordinary vaccination campaign ".

"We must continue with transparency to provide elements of scientific evidence and with this approach we must address the few who have not yet been vaccinated", the minister said, "let's not forget that it is still a small minority and I ask our doctors to general medicine to use all their ability to persuade, to explain what we know, and that is that with vaccines we are infected much less and above all the possibility of ending up in hospital and in intensive care is almost completely reduced ".

The real challenge for Sardinian healthcare is local medicine, recalled Speranza. “This is an even more significant national challenge in the areas where there is the greatest need”. And he explained that an opportunity has opened up within the pandemic crisis: everyone has understood that the national health system deserves investment and we must work to ensure that the funds for the NHS increase from the next budget maneuver ”. However, he specified, "it is the right to health that decides what must be written in the budget tables, because every euro invested in people's health is the largest investment in the quality of life". In particular, investing in what? "Proximity is the key word in the reform plan that we will implement".

The minister recalled that “the reorganization of ministerial decree 70 has reduced the hospital presence in the territories. But this was done without strengthening local services ”. And today, he concluded, "the challenge is to finance and build the reform of the territorial network". Even in Sardinia.
