Students who become travelers and pilgrims on an evocative journey with many references to history and mining civilization. As part of the second edition of the "We walk in Sardinia" event, two classes of the Alberti scientific high school tackle the route of the Santa Barbara Mining Path , one of the seven itineraries registered in the official regional register of paths, wanted and supported by Giampiero Pinna who died one year ago.

The third C and third CS classes, adhering to the pilot project "Schools on the move" also valid as a path for transversal skills and for orientation, with the support of the regional tourism department and the Terre di Mezzo publishing house, open the way The "Alberti" high school is in fact the first school in Sardinia to cross these paths. Yesterday the stops were in Iglesias, at the Monteponi mining site with a visit to Pozzo Sella, the village of Monte Agruxiau and the Santa Barbara cave. Today the 46 students, accompanied by three teachers, 2 Gae guides (Environmental Hiking Guides) and a companion from the Santa Barbara Mining Walk Foundation, are engaged in the journey from Nebida to Masua.

Tomorrow, Friday 6 October, the conclusion of the pilgrimage, 24 kilometers in total, with the visit to the site of Porto Flavia and the return to Cagliari. For students it is an opportunity not only to admire the splendid landscapes of Sulcis, but also to visit small villages, meet their inhabitants and discover landscapes and glimpses of rare beauty during a slow and spiritual journey.
