Sixteen unexploded devices of the Second World War identified in less than a month in the waters of southern Sardinia .
They were tracked down by the Navy minesweeper group that operated at sea from 3 to 27 May, during the maxi "Open Sea" exercise , which also touched the island and which overall saw four thousand soldiers involved in the field, of different armed forces and 7 NATO nations, 37 ships, 3 submarines, 11 aircraft, 15 helicopters, units of the amphibious component, with landing and assault vehicles and detachments of special forces.
Great maneuvers that have also aroused controversy and which, as mentioned, ended yesterday .
All the bombs traced, even in the Gulf of Cagliari , were reported to the competent authorities for the subsequent reclamation and safety measures .
