Fraudulent bankruptcy. And not in a single episode. This is the accusation that this morning led to the arrest of Matteo Pilato, an entrepreneur from Cagliari with multiple businesses behind him. The provision issued at the request of the Cagliari Prosecutor's Office was carried out this morning in Sinnai, the town of residence of the arrested person, by the carabinieri of the judicial police section of the Prosecutor's Office, with colleagues from the Quartu company, together with the soldiers of the economic police unit -financial police of the Guardia di Finanza. Some searches were also carried out. Pilate is under house arrest, monitored with an electronic bracelet.

According to the reconstruction of the investigators, he would have stolen assets from a company placed in judicial liquidation last July by the Bankruptcy Court, for accumulated debts worth over 3 million euros, of which over one million to the detriment of the Treasury.

According to what was ascertained during the investigations, Pilato would have managed the company, for exclusive personal interest, carrying out the main theft of assets through the sale, between 2019 and 2020, of the ownership of another company which, recently, completed its construction work on a luxury real estate complex made up of villas and apartments, put on the market at a price of several hundred thousand euros each.
