Maracalagonis, failed theft at the post office: the carabinieri are investigating

Investigations closed in Maracalagonis to shed light on the non-theft of the post office in via Nazionale at the ATM. The images of a camera are also in the hands of the police. Several people were questioned, but strict confidentiality is maintained on the matter.

The alarm, triggered the other night, allowed the control room of Poste Italiane in Rome to detect, in real time, the attempted tampering of the ATM by an individual with a covered face.

The criminal has tampered with the ATM with burglary tools in the probable attempt of a black box attack, a technique used to deceive the ATM and dispense money on demand.

The theft was not successful thanks to the prompt detection of the alarm which allowed to alert the carabinieri who intervened promptly on the site of the event.

However, the thug has managed to get rid of his tracks at the moment.
