Travel literature won't be the only way to explore the region. At the 18th Lawrence Festival, scheduled in Mandas from September 25 to October 3, 2026, and dedicated to the theme "Identity and Future," food will also become a narrative tool, intertwining memory, tradition, and the valorization of local excellence. Mayor Umberto Oppus is previewing one of the most anticipated events of the program: on Saturday, October 3, at 6:00 p.m., Roberto Giacobbo, a well-known Mediaset personality and creator of the hit program "Freedom," will arrive in Mandas, the protagonist of a special evening dedicated to discovering the region. The documentary "Mandas, the Land of Origins," a journey through the history, culture, and identity of the town, will be screened afterwards.

But this year's festival also aims to engage visitors through flavors. For the occasion, chef Antonello Mura is working on an exclusive "Lawrence's Menu," born from a study of local gastronomic traditions and the raw materials that have always characterized the region. The idea is to transform each course into a story: dishes that recall the history of Trexenta and inland Sardinia, interpreting traditional recipes and ingredients in a contemporary way. This gastronomic journey is designed to ideally accompany the cultural journey proposed by the festival, where tourism and memory also meet at the table. Among the specialties already announced is the truffle ravioli, destined to become the signature dish of the 2026 edition. "They are truly delicious," assures Mayor Oppus, who, however, is keeping the other courses secret: the full menu will be revealed only during the festival. The goal is to offer visitors an experience that goes beyond literary encounters, also introducing Mandas through its food and wine heritage.
