A large 13-meter vessel drifted within 40 meters of Campulongu beach, swarming with swimmers . The alarm was immediately raised, with moments of fear and certainly concern.

Dante Sigbaldi, owner of the "Fiore di Maggio" hotel and restaurant , and the maritime director Sebastiano Concas, another "sea dog" who knows everything about this sea, were the ones who noticed this potential danger along with the bathers.

They noticed the vessel approaching the beach, sensed the risks and dangers, and managed to reach it. On board was a middle-aged man who had apparently fallen asleep while the boat had "unmoored," plowing the seabed. Sigbaldi and Concas woke the man, in his sixties, and then gave him all the necessary instructions to get back out to sea, thus avoiding a beaching with all the potential consequences that could have entailed for the safety of swimmers and the environmental problems that could have arisen from the oil and fuel spill.

Meanwhile, the alarm was also raised at the Port Authority, and the vessel finally put to sea and then reached the same Port Authority headquarters in Villasimius for the necessary investigations and to clarify the circumstances of the incident. It was around 1:00 PM.

Mayor Luca Dessì, informed of the situation, also arrived in Campulongu to congratulate Sigbaldi and Concas for their intervention . It's worth remembering that Campulongu is one of the most beautiful beaches in Villasimius.

As mentioned, the beaching of this large vessel could have had more than one consequence. Just think of the boat that beached at Poetto months ago and which could only be removed recently.
