Mandas, degradation in the city center: "Whoever littered, pick up the mess, or we'll check with cameras."
The mayor also speaks about the countryside, where the phenomenon of waste abandonment continues to represent a problemPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
The wastebasket is empty, but cans and bottles are abandoned a few steps away, under the steps of the Town Hall.
This incident was reported by the mayor of Mandas, Umberto Oppus, who issued a message to residents urging them to respect urban decorum and the rules. The mayor reminded them that littering constitutes an administrative offense and, in the cases provided for by law, can also constitute a criminal offense.
For this reason, he hopes that those responsible will remove what was left overnight. Otherwise, he warns, the Municipality will review the footage recorded by video surveillance cameras and take the necessary measures required by law. "The town belongs to everyone, and the better maintained it is, the more welcoming it becomes," emphasizes Oppus, who takes this opportunity to thank a citizen from Northern Italy who lives in Mandas, who spontaneously volunteered to collect cans and bottles left in various spots around the town.
The mayor's appeal also extends to the countryside, where littering continues to be a problem. He encourages everyone to always take their waste home and to work together to keep the area clean. "Everyone's cooperation is needed," the mayor concludes, reiterating that respecting public spaces is a shared duty and a fundamental element for the quality of life and the image of the town.
