The allocation envisaged, with reference to 2021, for the management of Posidonia deposits on Sardinian beaches is equal to one million 300 thousand euros.

The objective is “to allow the regular use of the coasts and to contrast coastal erosion”.

"The coastal municipalities of Sardinia are 72 - Lampis specifies - About a third are seasonally engaged in important activities of handling the posidonia deposited on the coast with a considerable economic outlay. A quantity of posidonia that seasonally can reach tens of thousands of cubic meters, with large fluctuations in accumulations due to variable meteorological conditions ".

A part of the allocation, equal to 250 thousand euros, is "intended for the extraordinary management of posidonia through environmental recovery operations and the protection of the related degraded areas with restoration of the natural conditions of the beaches, also resorting to the permanent removal of deposits not otherwise manageable, through transfer and treatment in recovery, recycling and mainly composting plants ".

"Another 250 thousand euros - the commissioner specifies - are destined for the Municipality of Alghero, where a huge amount is deposited in the various urban and peri-urban beaches that compromises the sustainable use of the coasts".
