Hunt for the owners of abandoned vehicles in the streets of the center and in the countryside. In this sense, an appeal was launched for collaboration, through the intervention of the municipal administration, the Local Police and the Regional Forestry Corps, aimed above all at citizens, to reduce and eradicate the phenomenon.

«The activities that we will implement - says Alessandro Corrias, commander of the Local Police of Macomer - include the reconnaissance of the entire territory, the identification of the owners, who will in any case be urged to immediately proceed with scrapping the vehicle on their own initiative. Obviously, if the owners do not comply, there will be the elevation of administrative and criminal sanctions and the start of scrapping with compensation action".

The police will place a notice on the windscreen of every abandoned vehicle informing the owner that he must remove the vehicle within a short time. If you do not do so within the established 15 days, the administration will take steps to detect the administrative sanctions, reporting it to the Public Prosecutor's Office of territorial jurisdiction. Abandoning vehicles on city streets, in suburban streets and in the countryside is anything but a limited phenomenon.

In fact, there are repercussions on the environment and also on the health of citizens. «It is our intention to limit sanctioning activity as much as possible - says the local police commander - and to try to resolve the problem with the collaboration of all citizens. Collaborating is therefore in everyone's interest, to attack and resolve, in the shortest time, a phenomenon on which the decorum and respect for the environment in the area depends".
