For the umpteenth time they stood in front of the gates of the ghost plant, which cost the Region over 50 million euros, to demonstrate their desperation.

Some workers from Tossilo Spa, without a salary and without a future, staged a new demonstration this morning, to inform public opinion about what is happening and to urge politics, completely absent from the demonstration, with the Region unable to get it started the new waste-to-energy plant, which cost 52 million, with money from all taxpayers. Everyone's money.

«We have been fighting for four years and we still don't know what will happen to our company - the workers say in chorus - no one can tell us (maybe they have no idea what we intend to do) what the prospects are. We have the feeling that there is no future and they don't give us hope. Until next March 31st we are under the umbrella of the Municipalities of Macomer and Borore, seconded to have at least a salary, which however is delivered to us late, leaving our families in total desperation. What will happen after March 31st? We do not know. Maybe the abyss."

For three years no waste has arrived at the Macomer plant and the new waste-to-energy plant, for which the start-up has been announced several times, remains inexorably at a standstill. "We will continue to fight as long as we can - say the workers - it is not an obsolete plant, but it risks becoming so". Then the appeal to the President of the Region, Alessandra Todde, but also to politics in general: «Give us a future. Give the territory a perspective."

The Prefect has called a meeting for Wednesday 13 March at 10.30 am: also present are the regional councilors for Industry, Labor and Environment, the liquidator commissioner of the industrial consortium and the trade unions.
