It will be the student Alessia Dedola of the "Galilei" high school in Macomer who will represent Sardinia at the final of the XII edition of the Italian Championships on April 20th.

Alessia, who attends the second F of the Human Sciences course, after passing the Institute phase and the regional phase in recent months, has earned first place for the Junior category (first two years) in the regional phase of the Italian Championships. With tenacity and competence, the student successfully compared herself with the best students from other high schools on the island.

"I agreed to participate in the championships also to get involved, to test my skills," says the sixteen-year-old student from Bolotana who dreams of pursuing a political career one day. «But I never thought of winning, I thought it was a complex undertaking. It is a great achievement that has made me believe more in myself, I will work harder than before, aiming for victory».

The Italian Championships have been a regular appointment for the Macomerese Institute for several years now and this edition has also confirmed the excellent teaching preparation with four students who have positioned themselves in the first fifteen places of the regional junior and senior rankings.

«We are very satisfied with Alessia's success – say the representatives of the project Marietta Falchi and Anna Rasile – which represents an example of the desire on the part of young people to deepen their studies and improve their mastery of the Italian language».

Great pride for the school director Gavina Cappai , the teachers and the pupils who "look to the national final of the competition with confidence".

«The Italian Championships (formerly the Olympics) are a competition organized by the MIUR – explains the manager Gavina Cappai – which aims to encourage and deepen the study of the Italian language and enhance merit and excellence. Every year more than 60,000 students participate in the various phases of the competition . The competition is divided into three phases (institute competition, regional semi-final and national final) during which the pupils have to test themselves on the different levels of proficiency in the language (spelling, morphology, syntax, punctuation, vocabulary, textuality). For the national tender, open-ended tests are foreseen which require the reformulation of speeches and texts, the production of summaries and texts of various types».
