The consequences of a dead-end crisis could become a loose cannon for the territory. This has always been supported by Francesco Caggiari, mayor of Bortigali, who says: «With wall against wall, with 5 mayors against 5 mayors, the situation was becoming tragic. Only by acting democratically and with common sense can dramatic situations be avoided."

After the dark days, the light has now arrived. There is an agreement between the mayors, which avoids the dissolution of the Union of Municipalities and the dramatic consequences, which allows us to move forward, overcoming the wall against wall. After President Franco Scanu, mayor of Sindia, the member of the executive council Rita Zaru, mayor of Noragugume, also withdrew her resignation. Franco Scanu says: «I have spoken to the mayors of both parties and we have reached an agreement that allows us to move forward and outline the path to follow together. In a transitory manner I will convene the meeting of the ten mayors at the beginning of next week." Rita Zaru adds: «As a gesture of responsibility towards citizens and the territory, it was decided to find a transitional agreement to allow the body and the technical structure to complete important actions for the continuation of services and at the same time avoid the loss of resources. From this perspective, as per the agreement with the other mayors and as requested by the president, I have given my availability and decided to withdraw my resignation".

Scanu asks that for some time we proceed with the council elected not even ten days ago, in order to then find the appropriate political solutions to prevent clashes between mayors from once again occurring, which has characterized the life of the Union of Municipalities in recent seven months.
