Salcef , an Italian company specializing in the construction and renovation of railway infrastructures, was awarded the tender by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana for carrying out maintenance work on some sections of the Sardinian railway lines intended for tourist use .

The tender, also financed with PNRR funds, has a value of over 33 million euros .

The interventions concern the Mandas-Arbatax, Sassari-Tempio-Palau, Isili-Sorgono, Macomer-Bosa lines .

A first phase of the works concerns the renewal and maintenance of the tracks, which represent the most important part of the investment . Other interventions will follow on the tunnels and buildings as well as the verification of the bridges of the regional tourist lines - for a total of 62 million euros - for which the planning has already been started and tenders for lower amounts have been launched.

The completion of the works and the commissioning of the works carried out , as per the Pnrr programme, is scheduled for 2026 .
