A shop that speaks Algherese not only with traditional products and traditional sweet treats, but also through the description of the products and more. It is one of the initiatives to implement communication in Catalan in Alghero by commercial activities that want to continue preserving the language. Marta Dinapoli, the owner of the shop, wanted to translate the descriptive texts of the sweet production in Algherese for the benefit of customers or passers-by in Piazza Civica, where the business is located. Thus les casadines and los piriquittos, the holiday sweets, are described with a narrative that brings together memories and the composition of the ingredients.

The translations were made by the Linguistic Office of the Municipality of Alghero, which continues its activity in favor of the community to support the use of the language. "We are certainly satisfied with this initiative and how important it is to give a sign of participation in the preservation of Algherese - says the Councilor for Linguistic Policies Francesco Marinaro. "I congratulate the owner of the shop and I hope that her example will be followed, and I thank the operators of the Linguistic Desk for the valuable work they do. Together with the Civic Consultation for Linguistic Policies - he adds - we are working to systematize a project that in some way follows that of Active Citizenship to reward those who, as in this case, also use Algherese with customers".
