Plaque on the bench in memory of the first Plogging Giro d'Italia, and ceramic crest delivered to Mayor Lai, President Fonnesu and Director Plastina of the National Park by the volunteers of 'An archipelago without plastic'.

But that of a few days ago «could be one of their last appearances - they inform - if something doesn't change in the near future. In fact, the 215 members are asking for more collaboration from those who work on our islands during the summer and from the institutions with new rules-laws».

Active on the islands of the La Maddalena National Park since 2018, the volunteers remember that in recent years they have collected "over 115 tons of all types of material on the coasts and inland areas of all the islands, also cleaning up old landfills, putting many to shame people who over the years have pretended nothing happened. Unfortunately we need to intensify controls on the territory, enough with the white and red ribbons ».

And this of the controls is a really sore point. In fact, 'An archipelago without plastic' has been calling for the installation of video cameras for some time, denouncing the fact that often, in certain areas, landfills recently cleaned up by them are being reformed, making their efforts null and void and once again disfiguring the environment. The plaque, which bears the inscription «A good example has passed through here '1st Giro d'Italia di Plogging' - La Maddalena 29 October 2022 - ambassadors for respect for the environment», was placed on a bench in Cala Gavetta , in front of the command of the Guardia di Finanza.
