Karalis10 returns on Sunday 11 May , an initiative now in its ninth edition aimed at raising awareness and informing the population on important issues such as the prevention of neoplastic diseases, pain therapy and organ donation.
For the competitive 10km race , certified by Fidal, the start is from Molo Ichnusa in Cagliari: from there the route continues along Viale Diaz, entering the heart of the city, and then returns via Viale Colombo. Registration is open to both professional and amateur runners and joggers. Also on the program is the 5x2km relay , dedicated to those who want to participate with a friend or running partner: in this case, a repetition of the same route is planned with the participants passing the baton in Via Caboto at the height of the first new kiosks on the Su Siccu promenade. And also the 4km walk , open to all and non-competitive, and the 3km dog run.
"This year too - explains Dr. Sergio Mameli , president of the non-profit organization "Together against pain - we are proposing Karalis10 with the aim of raising awareness among people in the fight against cancer and chronic pain . And we are doing it with sport as a unique means of aggregation and sharing ". "We expect once again a large participation - continues Mameli, remembering the 3 thousand registered last year - to make our voice heard, all together, towards the recognition of chronic pain as a disease that requires specialized skills and patient care , a right established by law 38 of 2010 which, to date, unfortunately, has remained unfulfilled".
Attention to prevention will also be fundamental: on the day before the event, Mameli reminds us, free pain and breast examinations will be carried out in the clinics located in via Bottego 2. For reservations, please call 070/0955372.
