Let no one say that Joseph Robinette Biden and Xi Jinping, the former President of the United States of America, the latter General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party and undisputed Leader of the People's Republic of China, do not get along. On wind and photovoltaic speculation in Sardinia, for example, they have a common objective: to invade the island with blows of wind turbines and infinite expanses of silicon panels.

China & USA

The "occupation" plan is structured: on the one hand the Chinese operational "arm" directly linked to the Party-State, the multinational Chint , on the other the most powerful of the "Stars and Stripes" investment banks, JP Morgan . A competition that is at a distance for now, but which could soon cross paths on the roads of the island. Of course, America's bankers started well in advance and planted flags on land and at sea, covering all the knowledge of renewables, from the sun to the wind, planning an impressive descent thanks to international political "coverage" and "good offices" of the Palaces of Rome, always sensitive to the charm of American business in the Bel Paese.

The Chinese "coup".

The Chinese, on the other hand, have just landed, but they did so with the impetus of those who do not tread lightly. The exclusive publication by our newspaper of the documents on the purchase by the Chinese company "Chint" of a thousand hectare photovoltaic project, to devastate the Piana della Nurra, in the agricultural hamlets of Sassari, with silicon mirrors, revealed an effective shot scored by the "mandarins of the sun" in Sardinia. An operation capable of exceeding, by a lot, the entire solar investment of the Americans in the agricultural lands of the island.

Record on Nurra

Those thousand hectares that the Chinese bought from the Spanish "Enersid" mark an unprecedented record in Sardinia, in Italy and also in Europe. Contracts and notarial deeds that reveal how the Chinese had already, through the Spanish company, had Sardinia in their sights for some time. In order to get their hands on that plain on the outskirts of Sassari, they couldn't even wait for the outcome of the environmental impact assessment by the Ministry of the Environment. They bought and that's it, albeit with some safeguard rules, awaiting possible approval which they have however, with quite a bit of optimism, set for December 2025.

Americans in the Nuoro area

Those who, on the other hand, are moving forward without fail on the island are the men of Jp Morgan . Financial operations on the island, with the exception of offshore wind power, are proceeding apace. After having outwitted over 300 hectares of agricultural land on the slopes of Monte Arcosu, creating a devastating expanse of silicon panels, all Chinese, JP Morgan 's "white collar workers" headed straight for another of the "raped" areas and "plundered" of the island, that of Ottana. Consolidated mechanisms: closed-package purchases, land and projects approved or in the process of being approved, construction sites in full swing, with companies coming from who knows. Even in the Nuoro plain, in fact, the Americans have entrusted themselves to the Spanish " Caaf" , the train and railway company, which in Sardinia, however, is at the service of investment banks and the "lords" of the photovoltaic sector. When you burst into the industrial "darkness" of Ottana, left without an epitaph by Eni, which has always been on the run, leaving pollution and reclamation forgotten, you have the feeling that the landscape has given way to an unprecedented environmental disaster. The race, here, in the land burned by petrochemicals and locusts of biblical memory, has never stopped. Companies that disproportionately multiply the upheaval of hills and promontories. A wild occupation, where the cumulative effect has never been evaluated. Someone even dared to call it an "energy community". When you look in front of the signs, skimpy and austere with information, you immediately understand that there is nothing "energy community" here.

Mega speculation

The mega speculation in the industrial area of Ottana, however, has names and surnames, imprinted in the chamber of commerce records and in the notarial deeds. All international and continental profiteers who collect hundreds of millions in incentives, promising some humiliating handouts to the municipalities involved, those of Ottana, Noragugume and Bolotana. The last "landing" in the land of the two chimneys, banner of industrial defeat is the American one. When you come across the rolling hills behind the petrochemical plants being dismantled you immediately realize that the bulldozers aren't looking at anyone. With the grace of devastation they began to flay hundreds of hectares, previously dedicated to sheep farming and agriculture, and now ready to welcome "steel vineyards", on which to rest infinite expanses of panels ready to attack the sun of Ottana and surroundings.

Mysterious incursion

The American incursion is encrypted. In the only construction site sign, positioned almost out of modesty in an anonymous and invisible corner, it is all written: the company proposing the project is " Sonnedix ", i.e. the multinational one hundred percent owned by JP Morgan , the number one bank one of America. How they arrived from New York, leaving the skyscrapers of Wall Street for Ottana, is a mystery, all locked up in the notarial deeds of a multitude of companies and partners who followed one another in a vortex of capital gains, starting from "Graziella Green Power SpA" to “Karalis Solar Farm srl”. The project now in the hands of “ Sonnedix ” maintains the name of the first owners "GGP Noragugume". The objective is a system of 92,736 photovoltaic modules in monocrystalline silicon for a power of 50 megawatts.

Sea & land

A project that allows us to understand how Americans do not set territorial limits for themselves. Until now they had concentrated their "solar ambitions" entirely on Uta and Macchiareddu, now, however, with the Ottana operation they are aiming for new "conquests" making it clear that "shopping" in Sardinia is not over. A chessboard of stars and stripes that aims to also get its hands on two extraordinary stretches of sea, that of the Gulf of Angels to the south, between Pula and Domus de Maria and the other to the north of the island between Olbia and Siniscola. Devastating projects capable, however, of generating stratospheric profits, the ones that financiers who come from far away crave. The new frontier of speculation on the island of Sardinia no longer has borders: it goes from China to the United States with impunity. They care little or nothing about the landscape in the land of the Nuraghi. They are only looking for land to conquer shovels, panels and billion-dollar incentives.
