Arrests and searches , from the early hours of the morning , in the provinces of Cagliari, Sassari and Nuoro, and also in Genoa, Forlì, Cesena, Ravenna, Florence, Pescara and Teramo, to defeat an Italian-Albanian gang engaged in international drug trafficking .

The operation, called "Family and Friends" , was conducted by the carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Cagliari and the Quartu Sant'Elena Company with the support of the Central Directorate for Anti-Drug Services.

The prison doors have been opened for 22 people, 18 have been placed under house arrest.

At the top of the criminal group there was a man from Quartu Sant'Elena , who managed relations with Spain for the importation of hashish and with Albania for cocaine .

The same person, according to investigators, coordinated two other criminal groups: one that operated in Quartu and dealt with drug dealing in the Cagliari area, and one in Sassari.

During the investigations, which lasted several months, large quantities of hashish, marijuana and cocaine were seized .

Checks are still underway against the dozens of recipients of precautionary measures , requested by the Cagliari DDA and issued by the Cagliari GIP, and other findings close to the criminal group .
