The lack of information on the expiry of the interest-bearing bonds resulted in a 1.4 million euro fine on Poste Italiane and Adiconsum Sardegna, an association from which the Antitrust investigation was born, expresses its satisfaction, asking the company to reimburse all savers involved in the case.

"The Antitrust investigation stems from our report to protect numerous Sardinian savers who had subscribed to Postal Interest Bonds and received insufficient information about the expiry terms of these products, often elderly citizens who lost their savings due to the failure to request reimbursement within the statute of limitations - explains the president Giorgio Vargiu -. The sanction represents an important victory for consumers, but it is not enough: now Poste Italiane will have to automatically reimburse all the interest-bearing vouchers to users damaged by the lack of information, also to avoid, in light of the Antitrust provision, an avalanche of lawsuits compensation from those entitled ".
