«Bata violence, reported» is the message launched by Maria Laura Manca, president of the Municipality of Pirri and Arlen Haideé Aquino, president of the Arcoiris association, on the occasion of the international day against violence against women, which is celebrated on Friday 25 November.

The numbers in detail: 7 victims from 2017 to today in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari, 6 in the province of Sassari, 2 in that of Oristano, 2 in Southern Sardinia and 1 in the province of Nuoro . Six of the 18 victims are foreigners. The perpetrators of the crime in 13 cases are partners or exes, in the other 5 cases relatives.

In the first quarter of this year, 194 calls were made to 1522, a public utility number against violence and stalking: 128 came from Cagliari, 8 from Carbonia-Iglesias, 4 from Medio Campidano, 6 from Oristano, 16 from Nuoro, 24 from Sassari, 8 from Olbia-Tempio. None from Ogliastra. These are Istat data, which also reveal how requests for help to 1522 from 2018 to 2021 increased from 578 to 710 .
