Two wild boars have so far been killed in Santa Cristina after the ordinance signed by the mayor of Paulilatino , Domenico Gallus, to deal with the problem of safety and the protection of the site's extremely precious archaeological assets.

Entire families of wild boars are in fact putting the archaeological heritage of Santa Cristina and the safety of people at serious risk. Hence the decision, after consulting the Prefecture and the Police Headquarters, to proceed with the controlled culling of the ungulates.

Several reports arrived in the last month in the Town Hall on the presence of herds of wild boars, even fifteen specimens. Concern is inevitable, especially as the archaeological site is very popular with tourists especially in this period. The wild boars also caused damage to the perimeter walls of the sacred well.

In recent days, on some established nights, barracelli and a group of people authorized to selecontrol have set up to kill the wild boars. “Right now we continue to observe what is happening. After that, depending on what we verify, we will proceed to a new joke», explains Mayor Gallus.
