Over 324 thousand undeclared rents and an evasion of 75,400 euros in the air taxi sector were discovered by the Guardia di Finanza of Cagliari.

The operation focused on a few fronts. In the first place, the so-called real estate evasion, known as "black renting", a phenomenon often present in a territory such as the Sardinian one with a strong tourist attraction.

Through the monitoring of the real estate units intended for rent and the crossing with the information taken from the online platforms of the sector subsequently scanned through the databases in use, the Fiamme Gialle have selected specific realities. In the face of proven leasing activities , the amounts paid by the holidaymakers promptly did not find correspondence in the tax returns, if presented: in most cases, the "landlords" turned out to be subjects completely unknown to the tax authorities.

These are holiday homes, apartments, studio flats, located not only in the most renowned coastal holiday resorts in Southern Sardinia, but also in Cagliari and, in some cases, in the hinterland: a total tax evasion of over 324,000 euros for a dozen property owners.

The private transport sector has also come under scrutiny, in particular the luxury air taxi sector, a sector governed by a 2011 regulation which provides for the payment of a tax commensurate, for each passenger transported, with the distance in kilometers of the journey.

In particular, the various airlines are responsible for the application and subsequent payment of an amount equal to 100 euros, in the case of a journey of less than 1,500 km, and 200 euros for longer distances, for each passenger transported.

The checks by the Financiers in service at the Elmas airport took into consideration all the passenger flights made by air taxi in the first part of this year, comparing the travel documents filled out by the companies with the data relating to the payments made to the tax authorities by the carriers. 84 flights have emerged, operated by foreign companies, for which, in relation to the 646 passengers transported, the payment of the tax was omitted, paid directly by the users of the service, for a total amount of 75,400 euros.

Administrative sanctions were also imposed for the disputed violations for a total amount of 22,620 euros.
