Eleven properties, including land and buildings, located in the provinces of Nuoro and Sassari, a sole proprietorship, the shares and business assets of three companies operating in the agricultural, pastoral, and real estate leasing sectors, five motor vehicles, and various financial transactions, for a total value of over €2 million.

This is the amount of the seizure carried out today by the State Police through the Central Anti-Crime Service of the Department of Public Security and the Anti-Crime Division of the Cagliari Police Headquarters as part of a strategy to combat the accumulation of illicit assets by criminal gangs.

The investigation involved two people suspected of being part of a drug trafficking organization operating in the provinces of Cagliari and Nuoro, both of whom were involved in the 2023 operation by the Cagliari Flying Squad, called “Cold Spring”.

Both from Nuoro and both over forty, they are already in prison, convicted in the first instance.

"The complex financial investigations," investigators explained during a press conference at the Police Headquarters, "have allowed us to reconstruct a complex system of fictitious ownership and suspicious financial movements, leading to the identification of a significant amount of assets believed to have been illicitly accumulated as the proceeds of drug trafficking."

The measure, carried out at the request of the Prosecutor's Office, investigators add, "confirms the importance of asset-related prevention measures in the fight against organized crime, capable of removing illicitly accumulated assets and returning illegally obtained economic resources to the community."

Furthermore, it is emphasized, "the seizure of business activities is particularly important, a key element in the strategy to combat criminal infiltration of the legal economy. Removing businesses from the control of organized crime prevents the reinvestment of illicit proceeds and protects the market from unfair competition."
