They had been closed and converted into spaces for Covid patients. Since yesterday the surgical departments of the Santissima Trinità in Cagliari have returned to work at full capacity .

A crucial step for the real restart of the hospital: the sick were stuck in the emergency room, returned to prepandemic numbers, because downstream there were no beds available for hospitalization. The inconveniences were over for all to see: stretchers placed in the corridors and armchairs used as beds ( here the news ).

Now the bottleneck has been uncorked. The complex structure of Urology, after a cohabitation with the General Surgery, has restored the 15 hospital beds. To these are added another five, reserved for patients who test positive for the swab.

General Surgery has also been completely reactivated, with its 24 seats, plus four of the "bubble" dedicated to the virus.

"Thanks to the commitment of doctors, nurses and social health workers, the hospital is gradually regaining a pre-pandemic configuration", comments Roberto Massazza, health director of the Cagliari Local Health Authority , "the staff in the last two years have continuously shown flexibility and ability to adapt, allowing you to overcome the numerous obstacles that have arisen from time to time. However, attention remains high for the contagion curve, we are always ready to change the offer and availability of seats ".
