The case of the pensioner from Arzachena, Tonino Pirastru , who was hit and killed in front of his house near Porto Cervo by his neighbor, Mario Masala , is becoming more complicated.

After the activities of the Olbia Polstrada staff, the prosecutor on duty, Milena Aucona , personally carried out an inspection of the site of the tragedy, in Liscia di Vacca.

The accident occurred yesterday morning while Pirastru was carrying out work on the roadside, in front of his home.

According to rumours, the Tempio Prosecutor's Office and the Traffic Police are working on an alternative and much more serious hypothesis than the charge of road homicide, the one being brought at the moment in Masala.

The man, 38 years old, is not accused of voluntary homicide, but the investigations in these hours definitely point towards this hypothesis.

Masala, defended by lawyers Giancarlo Frongia and Domenica Gala , was held until late Wednesday evening in the offices of the Olbia Traffic Police Detachment. Today the investigation activities restarted with the direct involvement of prosecutor Milena Aucona.

The victim and the driver of the van that crashed on the side of the road had been at loggerheads for a long time, over a dispute that started over the location of a gate.

The two were neighbors and furthermore the disagreements are proven by legal actions of various kinds. Even the trajectory of the van does not seem entirely compatible with negligent conduct . The investigations are evolving rapidly.
