A veritable cache of highly dangerous homemade fireworks was discovered by the Carabinieri of Sestu, who during the night arrested a 37-year-old dealer, resident in the Cagliari hinterland and already known to the police.

The man faces charges of illegal possession and manufacturing of explosives.

After identifying a location linked to the suspect and tracking his movements, the Carabinieri intervened, conducting a personal and home search.

A large quantity of homemade pyrotechnic material was found inside the warehouse : paper bombs of various types and weights, explosive sticks, firecrackers, rockets and high-powered pyrotechnic batteries.

The seized material, weighing approximately 50 kilograms, was deemed highly dangerous, especially because it lacked any safety certification. During the operation, €255 in cash was also found, believed to be the proceeds of the illegal activity.

The fireworks were collected and placed in a suitable location, awaiting destruction operations, which will be carried out by specialized personnel.

Following the investigation, the 37-year-old was arrested in flagrante delicto and taken to the police station. After the usual formalities, he was transferred to Uta prison, where he will be held by the judicial authorities, who were informed by the Carabinieri who are conducting the investigation.
