The hearings in the health commission on the reform bill approved by the Council in August continue. Today, representatives of private healthcare will be heard. "We are private, accredited, contracted and equated to public facilities," explained the president of the Health sector of Unione Sanità Confapi Sardegna, Paolo Deriu, before entering. In practice, "we are private individuals who manage public healthcare." Now, he admits, "the conditions of healthcare are not great, but if we all put in good will, they can be corrected."

Deriu points out that "we perform 65/70% of healthcare services and account for 2.5% of healthcare spending. So we are a business for healthcare. Others, especially those in charge, need to realize this." In fact, "our facilities usually performed their activities with accreditation and with the agreement and did not charge citizens who needed them anything, today in terms of turnover we are at 50% with the private sector and 50% with the agreement. " In short, "there is a 50% lack of demand, so the situation is not good from a social point of view. We need to think about the people who do not have the possibility of paying for the visit or the instrumental exam."

That said, "we are for doing a cost analysis, we do social health care, and we want to reiterate it, it is a fundamental thing that has always been there in Italy, while for some time now they have been trying to move it somewhere else and move to pure entrepreneurial health care". As for the reform bill, "I didn't understand part of what I read. So I can't answer".
