Bishop Roberto Carboni of Oristano presided over the ceremony, which was attended by hospital and district directors Sergio Laconi and Lucia Cambilargiu, hospital staff, several local mayors, and representatives of the Health as a Common Good Committee. A prayer and the entrustment of the hospital to Saint Joseph Calasanz were celebrated, along with a plea from everyone to preserve the hospital. "I have met many patients," the bishop said, "in the various towns near Isili. I have heard their fears for the hospital, and I want to give them a voice."
