The desire of a 40-year-old from Cagliari to solve the problem that for some time had not made her live peacefully, that is to lose weight, ended in tragedy. For this she had turned to a Venetian hospital to undergo a stomach reduction surgery. But Sabina Luciano died a few days later and an investigation was opened on the case.

The woman, mother of a child of a few years, suffered the first ailments shortly after returning to Sardinia. Immediate hospitalization at the Policlinico di Monserrato, then the tragedy: killed by a septic shock, she established the necropsy, the cause of which must be identified.

The family members have presented a complaint, they ask for clarification. In the meantime, relatives, friends and acquaintances gave their last farewell to the 40-year-old, buried in the cemetery of San Michele.

She had relied on surgeons not for aesthetic reasons but for health reasons. She had faced the trip to another region, had undergone the operation and two days later returned to Cagliari. Then the severe pains, the hospitalization, and everything fell apart in a few hours.

"You can't risk your life like this in the hospital," says her husband Gianluca Secchi.
