Nine years in prison for sexual assault on his niece.

This is the sentence pronounced yesterday in court in Sassari by the panel, chaired by Monia Adami, alongside Valentina Nuvoli and Paolo Bulla, against a 59-year-old from the Sassari hinterland.

The crime was allegedly committed at night by the man, uncle of the alleged victim, when he was five years old in a family home in the province.

The incident was then reported by the young woman once she turned 20 and after confiding in psychologists. For the accused, defended by the lawyer Maria Grazia Sanna, the judges also ordered the payment of a provisional amount of 40 thousand euros.

The prosecutor was Mario Leo who, in the last hearing, at the end of the discussion, had asked for a sentence of 5 years, while the lawyer Angelo Vacca assisted the civil party.
