The hunger strike of Mario Sanna from Nuoro, father of Filippo, who died at the age of 22 in the Amatrice earthquake, continues to the bitter end.

Sanna has reached the 17th day of protest against the State which has not yet established a support fund for the families of victims of major disasters .

«It is paradoxical - he explains - the owners of the destroyed homes are receiving compensation. We were renting but nothing was provided for the families of the victims ."

The Sanna family now lives in Rieti: «Let's wait, I met the reconstruction commissioner Guido Castelli in Rome, he assured that he had forwarded all the documents. And we wait, but in recent years they have told us everything. They told us about bureaucratic problems, about funds that cannot be made available ."

Also supporting his battle is the mayor of Nuoro Andrea Soddu. «We are the ones who suffered the most damage from the earthquake but we have no answers. Let's continue to fight like this", urges Sanna, who recalls that the battle affects many people, given that there were 299 victims of Amatrice .

Tired? «More psychologically than physically», concludes Sanna. Today we started sending emails to Giorgia Meloni, there is also an online petition on Change.org. And Sanna also recalls the two precedents that should make a fund for the victims easy to normal: «The provisions in favor of the victims of Viareggio and Rigopiano» .
