The two bodies a meter apart, next to two stones. This is how the search teams found the hunters who died yesterday evening in a tragic hunting trip on a piece of land on a hill in Santu Lianu, in the municipality of Quartu: they are Giacomo Desogus and Matthias Steri, both twenty-eight years old from Quartu. According to the first reconstruction made by the Carabinieri of the Quartu company, one of the two accidentally shot the other , using the rifle regularly owned by Desogus. And probably destroyed by grief and remorse, he pulled the trigger on himself again.

The investigations that will be carried out under the coordination of the Public Prosecutor's Office will establish who died first and which of the two friends, shocked, decided to take his own life: the dynamics must be reconstructed with the support of ballistic analyses.

It was the relatives who raised the alarm last night when they were unable to contact the two. The searches were then carried out by the Carabinieri in collaboration with the firefighters and the Forestry Corps personnel. The cell phones of the two were ringing in vain. After finding the car, the searches were concentrated in Santu Lianu until the tragic discovery.

The specialists of the Carabinieri Investigative Unit then arrived on site to carry out the investigations, together with the coroner Roberto Demontis.

In the morning the two bodies will be transferred to the Brotzu Institute of Forensic Medicine where Professor Demontis himself will carry out the necropsy examination after the tests on the ground should better clarify the dramatic story.
