There are five rescues of birds of prey in difficulty carried out in the last week by the Forestry Corps in Southern Sardinia: an owl chick, an owl, a hen harrier, a marsh harrier, and a honey buzzard. Thanks to reports from citizens it was possible to protect the protected fauna, and now all the animals are being cared for at the wildlife recovery center of the Forestas agency. They will be released once it is ascertained there is no permanent trauma.

In Nurri, the owl chick was saved by the Forestry Officer of the Isili station after falling from a nest: it was trying to avoid crows intent on preying on it. Also in the same place, an owl was rescued which, perhaps due to the impact with power lines, suffered trauma to its wings.

The hen harrier recovered in Senorbì and the marsh harrier rescued in the Guasila area had the same fate. Collision with electrical cables represents one of the main threats to birds of prey.
