Still no trace of the hit-and-run driver who, this morning at 8.30, hit two cyclists on provincial road 25 , while they were proceeding along the bends towards Monte Rasu, in the municipality of Porto Torres .

Struck near La Pauledda by a car that attempted to reverse, the two friends, former municipal administrators, were thrown from their vehicles and landed on the asphalt . The driver didn't even stop to provide first aid and continued on his way, disappearing without a trace.

The Carabinieri of the Porto Torres company, who arrived on site to carry out surveys, are working to reconstruct the dynamics and to try to trace the vehicle and identify the man driving , responsible for failure to provide assistance.

The investigation into the incident could uncover further liability for the driver who performed an illegal reversing maneuver right near one of the curves . The two injured cyclists suffered fractures and abrasions, but the consequences could have been much more serious.
