Nuoro mourns his swimming instructor . Alessio Delogu, 51 years old , a historic swimming instructor at the municipal swimming pool in Via Piemonte , died this morning after suffering an incurable disease.

Having always been passionate about swimming, as soon as the swimming facility opened its doors in the city he immediately started working as an assistant and instructor , teaching swimming to hundreds of kids from Nuoro and beyond.

Alessio, a slim and athletic physique, always with a smile, had also contributed to bringing competitive swimming to the city by being part of the Rarinantes club .

Hospitalized at the end of the year in Milan, where he underwent surgery, he was then transferred to Mater Olbia.

Yesterday he returned to his city where he died a few hours ago .

The news spread around the city in a flash, with many certificates of esteem and disbelief on social media from his former students and many friends.

Words of condolence also from the FIN regional committee and the rescue section, who together with all the staff «thank Alessio Delogu affectionately for the work done and share the pain of their family and friends. Hi Alessio, we will always remember you with pleasure."
