A holiday in Sardinia booked from February , departure scheduled for September 12th, next Tuesday. The connection is a Genoa-Olbia , with GNV ferry. Or rather, this was before the company canceled the crossing a week before departure .

This is the complaint of a tourist, Francesca, who received the "joke" just before the start of her holidays, with a text message sent by GNV itself. The second a few days later, because a change in the departure time had previously been notified. An overall acceptable mix-up. Then the cold shower: «We were informed that the ticket had been cancelled» , he says. «Practically, and magically, the ship is no longer available. All this without adding a minimum of information or a number to contact. Practically abandoned to ourselves. We had a hotel booked and we were left stranded ."

In reality, the company says, the trip should not be missed. In fact, GNV would cover the route with a new Genoa-Olbia connection for the previous or following day , or alternatively for the same day, but with arrival in Porto Torres . A partial solution to a problem that, however, remains.

«In addition to losing our holiday», continues Francesca, «we have to waste entire days asking for refunds. I have been traveling for about 50 years, and I assure you that I have never seen anything like this before . We're really in shambles! Like me, many, many people will give up on Sardinia and I wonder how anyone can stand by and do nothing. Sardinia, "the increasingly isolated island" .
