Funds to groups, former regional councilor Matteo Sanna sentenced to 3 and a half years

The former regional councilor Matteo Sanna of the National Alliance was sentenced this morning by the judges of the second criminal section of Cagliari to 3 and a half years for embezzlement.
It is one of the strands of the maxi inquiry on funds to groups concerning the fourteenth legislature (2004-2009).
Sanna, defended by lawyers Ivano Iai and Roberta Campesi, had been called by the prosecutor Marco Cocco to answer for expenses deemed illegal for about 120 thousand euros, a figure partially cut today with the declaration of prescription of the disputed episodes until July 2008.
