From transport to culture: Cagliari and China increasingly closer
Mayor Massimo Zedda received the Chinese delegation from Fujian at Palazzo BacareddaFrom the possibility of commercial exchanges by ship, to air connections, then scientific research with a key role of the University of Cagliari and the promotion of cultural and sports exchanges (with the agreement with Cagliari football): Cagliari and China are closer.
After the diplomatic (and commercial) "mission" last February in Xiapu County, this morning Mayor Massimo Zedda received at Palazzo Bacaredda the Chinese delegation from Fujian and led by the Vice Governor of the Provincial Government of Fujian, Li Xinghu. The aim is to create an economic space between the city and the Chinese "district" that has over 40 million inhabitants.
«From an administrative point of view, Fujian province is equivalent to the Region, therefore as if it were the Sardinia Region», explains Zedda.
"Already in the meetings held, the interest is to activate relationships, cultural exchanges, as far as flights are concerned, but also with the university, the Port Authority. Relationships both as far as connections are concerned", port and airport, "and on the university front as far as history, architecture, archaeology are concerned, all content on which China is investing so many resources".
