It is the new scam that in the last few hours has been appearing on the Facebook walls of many Sardinian users who, unaware of the danger, risk becoming entangled in a trap on the web. " Attention, fake news ", writes the company that manages public transport in the vast Cagliari area on its profile. " There is no CTM card that allows you to travel for free for a year ," continues the short statement.

Yet the post published on the newly created "Administration of Cagliari" page seems authentic, complete with photos depicting some of the vehicles in the city fleet: «The administration of Cagliari launches a campaign to improve the environmental situation by increasing the use of public transport . Hurry, the special offer is valid until June 30, 2024."

" Report the page ", the company's invitation which reminds season ticket holders and occasional passengers to consult news and information only "on our official website". Yet it would not be the first time that the CTM has been targeted by fraudulent initiatives . Only a few months ago a link appeared promising the annual card for just two euros, with a fictitious payment link .
