The Court of Cagliari rejected the appeal of the president Alessandra Todde against the order of injunction of forfeiture of the Regional Electoral Guarantee Board at the Court of Appeal.

The ordinance was adopted by the Board on 20 December 2024 and notified on 3 January , after examining the expenses incurred by the governor during the regional election campaign , where irregularities were allegedly found.

Now, having obtained the final verdict from the Court, the final decision on the forfeiture case will be up to the regional council.

HERE ARE THE REASONS FOR THE SENTENCE: «MULTIPLE AND SERIOUS VIOLATIONS»

The reactions were not long in coming. The first was that of the regional and parliamentary coordinator of Fratelli d'Italia, Francesco Mura: «The sentence definitively puts an end to a legislature that, in fact, never really began. A government experience characterized by improvisation and superficiality, elements that have unfortunately characterized the political action of the Five Star Movement, today as yesterday».

For Mura "there is no reason to rejoice over what happened in Sardinia. However, the Todde case represents yet another confirmation of the inability of the grillini - even in this "revised and corrected" version - to interpret with seriousness and responsibility the role that the electorate, in some circumstances, has entrusted to them".

From the same party, but on the Regional Council front, Fausto Piga goes on the attack, speaking of "unprecedented institutional chaos, for the first time in the history of Sardinian autonomy the regional council will go home and the ones causing it are the grillini, the party of transparency and receipts, those good at shouting and screaming at others, but incapable of setting a good example. It was easier to do things well than to create this mess, after all it was enough to respect the rules that have been respected for thirty years".
