Forced vending machines in Assemini: two brothers arrested
Face hidden by a balaclava and crowbar in hand, they were blocked by the policeContinued aggravated theft, violence, resistance and injury to a public official. With these accusations the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile of Cagliari arrested two brothers in Assemini .
The soldiers had received a report from the operator of a private security institute regarding the presence of two people who, with their faces hidden by a balaclava and equipped with a crowbar, were forcing an automatic drink dispenser . A short distance away there was a Fiat Uno.
The police arrived on the scene within minutes but the thieves had already left. A search then began for the car, which was found in Via Trieste : it was stopped in the center of the road and with the engine running.
They approached, without being noticed, and saw two men forcing the door of a cigarette vending machine and, while one was intent on breaking the lock, the other was rummaging inside.
Once discovered, they abandoned the car to escape on foot in opposite directions. One, reached by the military, attempted to hit one with a crowbar but the escape attempt was blocked.
The other accomplice also tried to resist by hitting the police.
Inside the car there was a backpack containing screwdrivers, wood chisels, pliers, artisanal swords and bricklayer's gloves .
The two brothers, one aged 41 and the other 38 years old, were arrested. Today they will appear for the immediate trial at the Cagliari court.
