Continuous jealous outbursts, insults, and beatings against his ex-wife. A nightmare that continued for over two years and ended up in court. A 50-year-old man from Macomer was sentenced to three years for domestic abuse, aggravated because it occurred in front of the woman's young son.

The story dates back two years, when a 47-year-old woman, exasperated and terrified by the climate of violence that had become pervasive in her home, found the courage to report her husband. The facts were reconstructed in court by prosecutor Silvia Mascia, who recalled that the investigation revealed that the man, often under the influence of alcohol, had an obsessive attitude toward his wife : he constantly monitored her, prevented her from having external relationships, and threw furious jealous tantrums even over her relationships with her son and sister.

The tense situation escalated on several occasions, resulting in physical violence: the 50-year-old man grabbed her, kicked her legs, and even grabbed her neck. He even pinned her against the wall, but she managed to break free and escape to the bathroom, where she hid until the police arrived.

The heated arguments were always accompanied by insults and slurs, and the man also damaged the house by breaking down doors and destroying some furniture. Eventually, his wife found the strength to report the situation, and after an investigation, the case went to trial before a panel of judges presided over by Silvia Palmas. Prosecutor Silvia Mascia requested a sentence of three years and three months, while the defense, represented by lawyer Luciano Rubattu, urged an acquittal and, alternatively, a reclassification of the charges to less serious offenses. The panel of judges upheld the prosecution's argument, and the three-year sentence was awarded.
