The European forest fire information system reports "extreme danger" for August 16 in Sardinia.

The Copernicus programme, an initiative of the European Space Agency and the EU Commission, collects information through satellite surveys so that the European Union is able to prevent and manage emergencies in the fields of safety and the environment.

Today's forecasts signal an "extreme" danger precisely for various areas of southern Italy and Sardinia, as well as for Portugal, Spain, France, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia.

And already this morning the first Forestry helicopters took off. Two vehicles intervened in the countryside of Bitti, in the locality of Sant'Elia, to put out a vast fire. Another intervened instead in the campaigns of Bonorva.
