Hectares upon hectares of land in smoke, comings and goings of air vehicles, dozens of men in the field, six intoxicated firefighters, massive damage and invitations to the population to keep the windows closed.
The daily bulletin of the fires that broke out on Thursday 28 July 2022 in Sardinia is another "war bulletin".
BURNING MOLENTARGIUS - One of the most challenging fronts was that of Quartu. In fact, near the Molentargius Park, in the Lungosaline near viale Colombo, a vast fire has developed in the vegetation , with the flames that have also spread to a nearby company, which produces swimming pools causing extensive damage.

visible from several kilometers.
CLOSED WINDOWS - During the operations to extinguish the flames, the Municipality issued a note, with an invitation to the population residing in the area, "as a precaution and in order to avoid possible irritation to the airways", to keep the windows closed for a period twelve hours "and in any case until the emanations cease".
"According to the first findings of the ARPAS, the situation does not seem to cause particular concern: at the moment the data do not highlight elements of toxicity in the air - explains the mayor Graziano Milia. The monitoring continues, we invite all the inhabitants of the area to comply with the precautions indicated in the note issued by our offices ".
TWELVE INTERVENTIONS - Overall, in a few hours, there were 12 fires on the island. Other emergencies, including the intervention of helicopters, were recorded, among other things, in the municipality of Serri, in Loiri Porto San Paolo and in the countryside of Siurgus Donigala.
NUORO, PAINFUL BURNS - Meanwhile, investigations are proceeding to ascertain the origin of the fires in the last few days. In particular, the Environmental Police Investigative Unit of the Forestry Corps has ascertained that the fires that broke out at the gates of Nuoro between last Tuesday and Wednesday - which in Città Nuova also threatened the homes of 25 families, forced to evacuate - would be of malicious origin. .
In fact, triggers would have been identified in the areas affected by the fires, between Su Berrinau and Pratosardo and, in fact, the New Town district.
For investigators, the malicious action is confirmed by the fact that in recent years there has been a certain "seriality" in hitting various areas of the city of Nuoro, endangering the resident citizens.
On the other hand, the fires that occurred in the Nuorese outside the inhabited centers in recent days, from Su Tuvu to Nuoro, to those of Pratobello in the territory of Dorgali would be culpable: the investigators after careful inspections did not in fact find triggers.
