Via trees, weeds, vegetation near the train station. The Cagliari- Porto Torres railway line, intended for the transport of passengers and goods, crosses numerous cultivated lands, grazed or uncultivated in the municipal territory of Turrito.

Mayor Massimo Mulas signed the ordinance to keep the land clear of wheat sheaves, dry grass and any other combustible material for a strip of 20 meters from the railway border . The natural growth of herbaceous vegetation and shrubs along the railway line represents a serious danger as it is a potential cause of ignition, development and spread of fires.

The trees located in the land adjacent to the railway network must be located at a distance of not less than 6 meters from the nearest rail and, for trees higher than 4 meters, the distance must be equal to the height of the tree increased by 2 meters.

The provision is aimed at all owners, tenants, tenants or holders in any capacity of cultivated or pastured or uncultivated land, adjacent to the rails and located in the territory of the Municipality of Porto Torres. For those who manage a livestock farm bordering the railway appurtenances, there is an obligation to install stable and permanent fences, suitable for preventing livestock from entering the site, even where there are fences owned by the State Railways, which they are not designed for this function .
