A 30-year-old farmer from Quartu Sant'Elena arrested by the Forestry Corps for possession and drug dealing , but there is also a strong suspicion that he may be responsible for a fire set last summer in the Molentargius regional park.

The man ended up in the crosshairs of the Investigative Unit of the Inspectorate and the Forestry Station of Cagliari precisely following the serious fires that affected the Park last summer, with extensive damage to the environment and to production activities.

During the investigations, the suspects focused on the 30-year-old, resident in the park area, and some searches were conducted.

Just during the forest checks, a kilo of cannabis was found in the 30-year-old's availability. The handcuffs were thus triggered, with the court of Cagliari which then validated the arrest and ordered the obligation to stay.

During the investigative activity - explains the Forestry Corps - further elements were also collected for the fire crime which are now being examined by the Cagliari prosecutor's office, with the investigations coordinated by the prosecutor Giua Marassi.
