Ogliastra held hostage by fires. The civil protection machine went into action at midday today to put out a fire that broke out in the Semida countryside, between Bari Sardo and Loceri, in the Ilbono area. The alarm went off immediately and firefighting men and vehicles rushed to the scene with the Forestry Service on the front line.

The extinguishing operations, which continued until late afternoon with the help of the helicopter arrived from Fenosu, were also followed by the mayor of Ilbono, Giampietro Murru.

In the morning, firefighting workers worked in the Santa Lucia area, downstream from Villagrande, for further reclamation of the areas crossed by the fire which, between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, devoured around ten hectares of vegetation.

Also on Friday, but in Tortolì, an interface fire created panic and terror in the Monte Attu area. The Forestry Corps, in record time, identified the two alleged perpetrators. According to investigations, they were burning stubble on municipal land when the flames, driven by the mistral, spread in a few moments, causing destruction up to the homes. The two people were reported to the Prosecutor's Office for the crime of negligent forest fire.
