Fin broken by a net: sea turtle saved in Calasetta

She had a broken fin and was trapped in a piece of net which perhaps contributed to causing the injury, preventing her from being able to swim freely.

A caretta caretta was saved this morning by the men of the Calasetta Coast Guard: the military intervened in the waters close to the Maestrale pier of the port of the center of Sulcis following the report from a fisherman, who had noticed the turtle in difficulty .

The animal was recovered and transferred to the small port of Teulada , to be handed over to the experts at the Nora cetacean centre. The specimen is five years old and will be treated in the specialized veterinary clinic.
